Until July 23, 2017 in the gallery "Yasnaya Polyana" (the Tula region) an exhibition "Karl Bulla in Yasnaya Polyana", timed to the 110th anniversary of the arrival of a famous photographer for shooting in Tolstoy's estate, is opened.

The exhibition features memorial items from the House of Leo Tolstoy and 45 photographs from the Karl Bulla Historical Photography Foundation (Saint-Petersburg). The exhibition also includes postcards from the collection of Paul Rodzianko (USA), printed before the revolution from Yasnaya Polyana photos by Bulla.

The exposition is timed to the 110th anniversary of the arrival of a well-known photographer for shooting in Yasnaya Polyana, as a result of which Tolstoy's photographic library was replenished with a number of unique portraits of the writer, his family, guests, Yasnaya Polyana peasants, the interiors of Tolstoy's house, the types of the estate and its environs.

About two hundred photographs were taken in two days. These pictures were published in Russian and foreign illustrated newspapers and magazines, reproduced in the form of postcards.
