A. P. Chekhov became Yalta based resident in the autumn of 1898. The writer’s house was built during the year (October 1898 — September 1899) upon the project of an architect L. N. Shapovalov. The writer lived in this house until May 1, 1904. A. P. Chekhov’s sister M. P. Chekhov has greatly contributed into the museum’s development and a study of his works.
