The collection devoted to the centenary of the birth of Daniil Granin - classic writer of modern Russian literature, Honorary Citizen of St. Petersburg, laureate of literary and state awards, consists of photographic materials, which cast light on his public activities, photographs from the presentation of “A Stranger’s Diary” book, and a documentary film, in which the writer recalled past years paying particular attention to the wartime.

The specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based at the Akhmet-Zaki Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan, have created a virtual exhibition titled Everything Should Be Fine in a Person... to commemorate the 165th anniversary of Anton Chekhov, a renowned Russian writer, short story master, playwright, publicist, physician, philanthropist, and honorary academician of the Imperial Academy of Sciences.

On December 3, 2018 the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute (Moscow) is presenting the exhibition “Turgenev: French Life of the Russian Novel”, which marks the bicentenary of the birth of Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev. The exhibition is organized with the assistance of “History of the Fatherland” Foundation. It showcases letters, books, photographs, etchings and portraits, Russian and French newspapers and bills, and multimedia, including interactive tests on Turgenev’s oeuvre.

Now Internet users got an opportunity not only to watch video tours of the most interesting exhibitions and expositions of the museum but also to participate in online workshops and learn new things about the history and architecture of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery from posts and blogs in official groups of social networks. In April, museum specialists will launch a new "Tales" section on their information websites.

New Year celebrations in the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Madrid

New Year's tree was organized in the premises of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Madrid. Pupils of the educational center "Znayka" presented to the guests a performance of the poetic fairy tale "Koshkin Dom". Then the children read to Santa Claus the poem dedicated to the holiday. After the presentation the guests drove around the New Year tree and played snowballs. All the participants of the tree received a traditional New Year gift - their favorite sweets.

Today, October 22, 2019 marks the 149th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Bunin (1870–1953), a prose writer, poet, translator and Nobel Prize winner in literature in 1933. The Presidential Library’s portal provides a selection of memories of the writer and his work, including early Bunin’s poems and stories published on the pages of pre-revolutionary magazines, such as: “Novoye Slovo”, “Sovremenny Mir” and others.

On November 2, 2019 the Grin Feodosia Literary Memorial Museum (the Republic of Crimea) is presenting a small exhibition “Four Good, Best, Happy Years”. It commemorates the 95th anniversary of Alexander Grin’s move to Feodosia. In the spotlight of the exhibition is a house, where the writer was happy. It was there that he wrote the novels The Golden Chain, She Who Runs on the Waves, Jessie and Morgiana, The Road to Nowhere, two short novels, and about forty stories.

A unique study on the history of comics enriched the Presidential Library’s collections

The Russian drawn story which history goes back several centuries, remains unknown for many people. Irina Antanasievich, Doctor of Philology of the University of Belgrade (Serbia), clarified a question. She donated a unique book to the Presidential Library’s collection, the fruit of a long-term study - Russian Comics of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (2018).

On March 28, 1868 in Nizhny Novgorod a son Alexei was born into the family of cabinetmaker Maxim Peshkov. Left an orphan early and having gone through a harsh school of life, he was able to leave a deep mark on Russian literature of the 20th century. Under the pseudonym Maxim Gorky, he became one of the most famous Russian writers and thinkers in the world.
