The Presidential Library ahead of the next anniversary of the beginning of the siege of Leningrad illustrates the story of Galina Mikhailovna Sirota (born 1931) and her mother - Evdokiya Alexandrovna Braginskaya (1911–1993) This amazing story of a typical Soviet family of that time is available in the electronic library’s section, which includes diaries and personal archives collected during the campaign marking the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege.

Exactly 80 years ago - January 14, 1942 - the immortal poem of the poet Konstantin Simonov Wait for me was first published on the pages of the Pravda newspaper. A digitized copy of this issue is presented in the collections of the Presidential Library and today is available to everyone from anywhere in the world.

History of Moscow: Historical and documentary exhibition “Tram – All-Time Hard Worker” kicked off in Moscow

The Moscow Main Archive Directorate (Glavarkhiv) presents a historical and documentary exposition “Tram – All-Time Hard Worker”, which is staged in the Exhibition Hall. Visitors will learn about the early history and development of one of the first means of public transport in the capital city. Materials on display cover the period from the late 19th century to the present day. The exhibition will be open until March 21, 2019.
