Ivan Sviyazev (1797-1875), an architect, engineer, inventor and academician. He was a prominent representative of the Ural architects (author of about 30 buildings in Perm). He was a professor at the Academy of Arts and other institutions. Sviyazev was the architect of the Ural (Perm) Mining Administration. He also was a Senior Councillor and Inspector of the Commission for the Construction of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Sviyazev wrote the first Russian "Guide to Architecture".
