March 18, 2019 the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Research Library held for pupils of school № 29 a multimedia lesson "Russia and Crimea: Together Forever" dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the reunion of Crimea and Russia.

On March 21, 2019 the Russian State Library for Young Adults, Small Hall (Moscow) is holding the National Seminar “Digital Literacy and Library”. The live broadcast of the seminar will be available on Culture.RF portal and on the website of the Russian State Library for Young Adults.

Two years ago, in the area of the Bolshoy Tyuters Island in the Gulf of Finland, a search expedition discovered the submarine Shch-406, which crew had been missing for more than 70 years. The last trip on this submarine was made by engineer-lieutenant-commander Konstantin Matveyevich Maksimov (1915–1943).

The Digital Economy national programme is the first national project that has launched its own website. The purpose of the portal (digital.ac.gov.ru) is to post official information about the national programme, its management structure, events relating to six federal projects, which are part of it, news and analytical materials focused on digital economy in Russia and in the world.

A new exhibition “Crimea in the Works by A. I. Kuindzhi” will open on March 22, 2019 in the Garden Vestibule of the Mikhailovsky Palace (The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg). It showcases selected canvases by Kuindzhi dedicated to nature in Crimea.

March 20, 2019 the Russian Cultural Center (RCC) in Beijing hosted comprehensive event dedicated to Russian folk crafts for the students of the Chinese University of Communication, studying the Russian language.

The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow) held a press conference, which focused on large-scale exhibition projects dedicated to prominent Russian collectors – Shchukin and Morozov families. They will kick off in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the State Hermitage Museum in summer 2019.

On March 26, 2019 the Victory Museum is presenting an international exhibition “Liberation of Europe”. The opening ceremony will bring together representatives of embassies - Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Greece, Hungary, public figures, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, schoolchildren and students. On March 27, 2019 the Russian Museum of Ethnography (St. Petersburg) is presenting a new exhibition “The Gold of the Inca Empire. God. Power. Eternity. 2000 Years of the Great Civilization”. The exposition is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and Peru. The National Library of Russia, New Building (St. Petersburg) has staged the exhibition “Nikolai Berdyaev: 145th Anniversary of Birth”, which is dedicated to life and work of the prominent Russian philosopher and religious thinker of the 20th century. The exhibition will run through April 14.

Vita Nova publishing house presents the exhibition “Many-sided Personality of Dostoyevsky”, which will run in the Dostoyevsky Museum in St. Petersburg from March 12 to March 31, 2019.

On February 27, 2019 the Presidential Library will host a conference “Dmitri Mendeleev: Scientist. Metrologist. Educator”, dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the birth of the great scientist-polymath and the 150th anniversary of discovery of the Periodic Law of Chemical Elements. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast online on the portal of the Presidential Library in “Live Broadcasts” section.

The 30th anniversary of withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan is marked in February 2019. On February 15, 1989 at 10:30 a.m. Lieutenant General Boris Gromov, commander of the 40th Army, was the last to cross the Amu Darya River on the Soviet-Afghan border, following his soldiers. The operation intended to provide international assistance to the people of Afghanistan began on December 25, 1979 and lasted for a decade, or 3,341 days.

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Yarilova, has announced that 500 virtual concert halls will be opened in Russia by 2024. Virtual concert halls may be set up at philharmonic halls, as well as at community centers, libraries and museums. Virtual Concert Hall is a large-scale project of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, which is implemented as part of “Culture” national project.

February 22, 2019 in Ulaanbaatar, the University of the Humanities of Mongolia hosted the research and practice conference "European Studies: Language, Culture, International Relations and Education", timed to the International Mother Language Day.
