The sixth conference of Russian compatriots, living in China was held on June 19 in the city of Urumqi (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, PRC). The event was devoted to the discussion of the role of public communities of the Russian-speaking Diaspora in strengthening the friendship between peoples of Russia and China.

The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Rome (RCSC) hosted a “Friendship Concert” to highlight the participation of Russia in restoration of architectural monuments in the Italian city of L’Aquila after a devastating earthquake of 2009. The initiative was encouraged by "L’Aquila is us” Association", the Russian Embassy in Italy and the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Rome.

The writer worked on this novel from 1863 to 1869. Like pieces of the mosaic the novel features the facts of Tolstoy’s biography, memories of his family members, events of the world history. The exhibition will run through July 21, 2019.
