Territory of Russia: “Image of the Russian Provinces” exhibition to kick off in Rostov Region

On March 29, 2019 the Azov Museum-Reserve, Metsenat Exhibition Hall (Rostov Region) is staging the art exhibition of Igor Blagotin’s works under the title “Image of the Russian Provinces”. The exhibition showcases about 40 paintings of the artist: cityscapes and landscapes, which present the unique colour of the Russian south, as well as still lifes. “Image of the Russian Provinces” exhibition will be open through April 28, 2019.

It features 44 pictures of Russian landscapes, architecture, wild animals, everyday life of indigenous peoples.

The British Library provides free access to a collection of over 40,000 maps and views. The material forms part of the Topographical Collection of King George III held by the British Library and captures four centuries of visual impressions of places throughout the world, from maps and atlases to architectural drawings, cartoons and watercolours. From today, the images will be available for anyone to view online via the British Library’s digital Flickr Commons collection.
