The Day of Memory and Sorrow is marked in our country on June 22. Ahead of this day the State Archive of Contemporary History of Ulyanovsk Region is mounting the exhibition “They Were the First”. The exhibition is staged in the Book Palace – the Lenin Ulyanovsk Regional Research Library.

This was said at the regional conference “Intangible heritage of the Finno-Ugric peoples as an object of conservation” in Khanty-Mansiysk by the first deputy governor of the autonomous region Gennady Bukhtin. Yugra, as he said, stood at the origins of the project.

The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow presents the exhibition "Sobibor: Defeated Death", dedicated to the uprising in the Nazi extermination camp Sobibor in 1943 and the organizer and leader of the uprising Alexander Pechersky. This was the only uprising in the death camps, which ended in the victory of the prisoners. The exhibition is timed to the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust (celebrated on January 27).
